Dr. Bayram-Jacobs, Durdane

Dr. Durdane (Dury) Bayram-Jacobs Is a senior researcher and a coordinator of the DUDOC project at the Department of Science Education of Radboud University, the Netherlands. She received her PhD with summa cum laude in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialisation in professional development of physics and science teachers, and a master degree, magna cum laude, with a concentration in comparative research in initial teacher training of science teachers, from Ankara University Faculty of Educational Sciences. She holds a bachelor degree in physics teaching from Middle East Technical University (METU), Turkey. She is also an experienced teacher who worked as a physics/science teacher for ten years. Connected to her research, she worked in several European funded projects as a project manager and a researcher. She recently worked as an internal evaluator of the ENGAGE project, which is funded by the European Commission as a part of the EU Science in society agenda to promote Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). She has also had an opportunity to work as an external evaluation expert for Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), Brussels.

Her research interests are; pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) of science teachers, Socioscientific Issues (SSI) in science education, innovation in science education, Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), and bridging science education and science communication.
