Dr. Emmanuel Christy Jeyaseelan
Presently I am working as a senior lecturer in Department of Botany, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Recently I have completed my PhD studies in plant pathology in school of Agriculture, Policy and Development, University of Reading, United Kingdom. Title of my thesis was ‘symptomless infection by Botrytis cinerea’. I have hands on experience in several molecular biological techniques. Currently I am working on molecular identification of begomoviruses in Sri Lanka, Identification of marine algae present in Jaffna peninsula and screening of yeast in toddy samples for production of single cell protein. For about ten years I am working on utilizing medicinal plants to screen active compounds. I am also working as sectional editor in the Vingnanam Journal of Science (ISSN: 2012-9939) Published by Faculty of Science University of Jaffna.
