Prof. Martin Kröger

 

Prof. Martin Kröger is Professor of Computational Polymer Physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zürich). since 2006. He received his Ph.D. (1994) and habilitation (2001) in Theoretical Physics from the Technical University of Berlin, spent several years as postdoc and invited or assistant professor in Jerusalem/Israel, Metz/France, Cambridge/United Kîngdom, Santa Barabara/California, and Strasbourg/France before he permanently joined ETH Zurich in 1997. His scientific interests include: Nonequilibrium systems, Statistical physics, stochastic differential equations, Computer simulations, Lattice models, Networks, Anisotropic liquids, Biophysical systems, Ferrofluids, Magnetorheological systems, Actin filaments, Polymer melts, Entanglements, Dynamics of polymers and dendritic systems, Polymer brushes, Pattern recognition, Data mining, Efficient algorithms, Self-consistent field theory, Brownian motion, Theory of  coarse-graining. Teaching in the all fields of Theoretical and Polymer Physics, and Computational Science. He is editor-in-chief of Applied Rheology, member of the board of directors at the Beowulf cluster/Switzerland, and PolyHub/United States, member of the editorial boards of Journal of Non-Newtonian Fluid Mechanics, Journal of Nanofluids, Physics Research International, and Polymers. Winner of the Carl-Ramsauer Prize, First Rheology Prize, and Kurt-Ueberreiter Prize, and a contributor to wikipedia and other open access facilities.
